Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on the 26th of March on the 26th of March, 1991. She's an American musician and singer. She was the first artist signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. The label released her first EP, Pho, in October of 2016 when she began to get recognition. Her debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music online in the year 2012 after she dropped her mixtape debut Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. In 2014, she released more music via the Internet including Bound. The song was included in Omen's Elephant Eyes, from Sweat It Out, July 21st in 2015. In the following year, her music circulated around the Dreamville team as J. Cole wanted her to work with him on some possible references for Rihanna. On the 8th of December, it was confirmed that she had been signed to Dreamville Records. The record Revenge of the Dreamers II She was on the track Backseat alongside Cozz. On October 21, 2016 the EP Pho debuted. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as being an opener on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017, in which she supported by EarthGang. In 2018, she performed as a guest performer on two tracks, including EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song as well as Bas's Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single from Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on July 16, 2018. The music video later released in September. On November 9 she released two singles titled 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. On November 13 she dropped two more singles entitled No One or Pdigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby later made an appearance in the Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. She released this single as a way in order to announce her debut album Creed II on 26 February 2019. In February of 2019, the music video for this song was released. It has had over 3 million YouTube views in just a single week. In December of 2018, she was part of The From East Atlanta With Love Tour, which featured 6LACK.
